Same Love

"God loves all his children is somehow forgotten."
This song by Macklemore is a song that has had me thinking. Everyone has heard it and everyone has their own opinions. Everyone has their option on same sex marriage. I am here to tell you that this is not about that but it will have some language from songs that I do not support.
I first started thinking about this song when one of my friends told me about some tweets she had seen after the performance of this song at the VMA's. These tweets coming from "Christians" who attend church regularly but were saying some very hateful things toward what I would call the "Gay Community". What stood out to me was the quote that I put at the beginning. GOD LOVES ALL HIS CHILDREN. This means the black the white. The blue the brown the purple. The gays the non gays the sinners the saints. The drug addicts the alcoholics. The convicts the crooks. God loves the least of these. Just because you go to church every Wednesday and just because you go to church on Sunday doesn't mean you are better than anyone. A subject that gets me going is when people try to act like they are better than someone because they don't do the same things. God gives us a whole lot of opportunities to evangelize. He gives us opportunities daily.
Miley Cyrus? What in the world? The VMA performance. Good gosh. We have seen the tweets. "Miley you are the biggest whore." "Miley looked like a total hooker." Not that I agree to what she was wearing or the kind of dancing that she did, but I read a blog the other day and the man said "There are a whole lot of "Christians hating on you over twitter, but what I think is that you have much more going on in your life than what you are willing to talk about." This is so true. In everyone's life. We are so caught up in judging other people's lives that we forget about our own problems. We forget that our sins are just the same as theirs. Jesus shed the same amount of blood for me as he did for you. I struggle with this daily. I even commented harshly on Miley's performance when I sin daily. Just like Miley or any celebrity we have our own insecurities. As much as we deny it we have them weather it be what people think or looks or what our possessions consist of we all have them. But guess what the greatest thing is that through all our sins and struggles God loves us for us. Not for who we aren't or who we are trying to be. No he loves us for us.
Just like the potter shapes his clay into a pot God forms us into his creation. We are created in his image. God sits and forms us from dust and he says man this is good. That is why none of us are alike  because no pot that a potter makes is the same they all have differences. So we are the clay and God  a the potter. Let him take way and we will have no flaw!
I challenge you to remember that when someone does something that we would see as a sin to remember you sin just like they do. Heck you sin just as much as a murder does. I just want you to know that God loves you and that God loves ALL his children!
"You are beautiful in every way, my true love, there is no blemish on you."
Song of Solomon 4:7
Have a great week!
